The Canadian Cardiovascular Research Network (CCRN) is a not-for-profit research organization that aims to foster research efforts and generate new knowledge to improve cardiovascular care in Canada. An additional mandate is to develop state-of-the-art knowledge integration platforms focusing on the future of health care delivery, research and academia-industry interface.
Approaches to risk stratification and management of patients with acute coronary syndromes have evolved dramatically in recent years. The broader availability of timely coronary angiography and revascularization, the recognition of the importance of minimizing bleeding events, and the introduction of new and more effective pharmacotherapies has resulted in improved outcomes for ACS patients. The Toronto ACS Summit brings together leaders in the field to discuss best practices, and to explore the future of ACS management in Canada.
